What is Maintenance Allowance to V.J.N.T and SBC Students of Professional Courses, Maharashtra 2017-18?

Social Justice & Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra invites applications for the scheme of payment of maintenance allowance to V.J.N.T and SBC students pursuing professional courses and residing in the hostel attached to professional colleges. The objective of introducing this scheme is to support the V.J.N.T and S.B.C students of professional courses such as Medical, Engineering, Animal Husbandry etc in completing their education.

 

Who can apply for this scholarship?

In order to be eligible, an applicant must

  • Be pursuing professional courses, e.g., engineering, medical, animal husbandry etc.
  • Belong to SBT or V.J.N.T category.
  • Have applied for admission in government hostel.
  • Have been admitted either to the hostels attached to professional colleges or to approved private hostels.

How can you apply?

In order to apply, follow the steps given below-

Step 1- Go to this website.

Step 2- Fill in the application form.

Step 3- Upload the documents and submit.

Step 4- Take the print out and submit it to the concerned college.

 

Terms and Conditions

Award details

The maintenance allowance is given to the students as per their category of professional courses

  • For 4 to 5 years course (Engineering, Medical, Agriculture etc.)- The students who are studying in these courses will get INR 700 per month.
  • For 2 to 3 years course (M.S.W, Engineering Dip., M.S.W etc.)- The students who are studying in these courses will get INR 500 per month.
  • For 2 years and lesser duration courses (B.Ed., D.Ed. etc.)- The students who are studying in these courses will get INR 500 per month for ten months.
