CA CPT organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), is the gateway to enter into Chartered Accountancy (CA) profession. Details about the CA CPT 2019 exam including the application process, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and important dates are provided in this article.
Set to occur on 16th June 2019 (Sunday), the exam will be conducted on two sessions- morning from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM and afternoon session from 02.00 PM to 04:00 PM. The last date to submit the application form is 24th April 2019 and the late fee last date is 2nd May 2019. The students can collect their Admit card in the first week of June and the result is expected to get declared during the third week of July 2019.
The applicants can apply through the ICAI official website from 4th April 2019 to 24th April 2019 and up to 2nd May 2019 (with late fees of Rs. 600/- for Indian and Kathmandu Centres and $10 for Foreign Centres). The application fee that the student has to pay is Rs. 1000/- for centers in India, US $ 300/- For Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai & Muscat centers and INR 1700/-- for Kathmandu Centre. This can be paid via online payment gateway facility with VISA/Master/Maestro Credit/Debit Credit.
There are certain criteria that ICAI has set for the aspirants to fulfill before appearing for the exam.
CA CPT is a pen-paper based test which consists of objective type questions. The test will be held in two sessions in a single day. It should be noted that there is negative marking for an incorrect response where for every incorrect answer; one-fourth marks shall be deducted. The distribution of question in each section is as follows:
For qualifying the CA CPT exam, the candidates need to obtain at least a minimum of 30 percent marks in each section a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all the sections, then only they will be declared passed in the Common Proficiency Test.
