Symbiosis International(Deemed) University(SIU) has opened its second biggest campus in a sprawling 75-acre land at Wathoda. The campus will start functioning from July. For the first time, 25% of seats will be reserved and 15% fee concession will be provided for city-domiciled students. This has been a great relief for thousands of students who normally move out to bigger cities for better higher education.
Initially, the Pune-headquartered institution will be starting its operations with three schools Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Symbiosis School of Law (SSL) and Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture, and Design (SSPAD). Various courses, including MBA, BArch, BBA, BBA-LLB, BALLB, and LLM, will be offered under these schools.
Pro-chancellor Vidya Yeravdekar said, “The teams from Bar Council India (BCI) and Council for Architecture (COA) visited the campus recently. After a thorough inspection of our new building and facilities, they granted a green signal for running the courses.”
“We’ve already started admissions for BBA, MBA, BALLB, and BBA LLB and their classes will commence from July 1. For architecture, it will take some time as those would be based on entrance tests,” Yeravdekar, who’s also Symbiosis Society’s principal director, said.
The renowned institution has also appointed directors for three schools on officiating basis along with the required number of faculties. They included Shrirang Altekar for SIBM, Sukvinder Badan Sing Dari for SSL and Anjali Sharma for SSPAD.
